Jim Fazio has designed a course which is challenging for the most capable golfer, yet enjoyable for the recreational player. This is Jim Fazio's signature course. He takes great pride in it. Said Fazio, "The course is completely natural, and whenever you are on grass, you have a shot. There are no impossible's."

Golf greats,  have found Hawk's Nest Golf Club very much to their liking. "It is one of the best courses I've ever played in the state of Florida," said Jack Fleck. And Bob Rosburg noted, "It's not often one will be able to play a course like this in Florida. The 18 holes are not only beautiful, they present a challenge to the golfer." According to Bob Toski, "It's a winner".

Hawk's Nest was ranked in the Top 50 courses by Golfweek in 1990. It hosted the Florida Senior Championship in 1991, and has been a qualifying site for several U.S. Opens.

The Course

Hawk’s Nest is on a sand ridge that bordered the Atlantic Ocean thousands of years ago.  The 200-acre, natural rolling terrain offered elevations as high as 50 feet. 

The appeal of this land and the opportunity to build a golf course that would include some of the highest elevations in the state prompted Fazio to commit to this undertaking.  He knew the level of excitement and pure enjoyment of the game would be an unsurpassed high from the 1st tee to the 18th green as seen in the hole-by-hole description below.
